U.S. Foreclosure Filings Top 300,000 for Sixth Straight Month - Bloomberg.com

Nevada Leads
Nevada had the highest foreclosure rate in August, with one in every 62 households receiving a filing, even with an 8.4 percent decrease in foreclosures from July, RealtyTrac said. August filings were up 53 percent from a year earlier, with 17,902 Nevada properties receiving a foreclosure filing.

Not good news.

Ah but Nevada also leads in another category. 103 out of 1000 highschool girls are pregnant. So proud!

With a number that high, one of the high schools should call their sports teams the "Baby Daddies".

Doesn't mean much these days. People are living in their homes without paying thier mortgage. As long as the government continues sending money to banks to cover these loans, I don't see any reason for banks to sell homes. The banks are now in the landlord business.

Nobody is sending the banks any money to cover these mortgages. If the are not paid the banks don't get their service fees.

The feds are supporting Fannie May and Freddie Mac but that is about it. And that does not do the loan servicers any good. They still don't get paid if there is no income.

Only 6th or seventh on birth rates however.

Note it is pretty well correlated with black and hispanic population. Disadvantaged minority teenagers tend to have children they likely should not...what else is new.
