One question: Would you fit in better in LV as a parolee or a university graduate?

Now I hope you are kidding? Of course, the university graduate would fit in better.

I still don't understand what's so bad about Vegas? I mean I'm annoyed with where I live at the moment (south jersey), but I don't hate it. I just don't know what people expect when they move there?

I expect to enjoy the weather. I expect to enjoy being around a different type of person; a west coaster! I do enjoy casinos and I do enjoy nightlife (and especially theirs). What do people expect when they go there to live....?

I AM DEAD SERIOUS...drugs aside, I would go with the person on parole simply because I have run into more then a few well educated people who were stuck doing jobs they were vastly overquailified for because there was no work to be found in their given field and that was back when employment was stable here.

Hey, if you come here, feel free to DM me. You seem to be cool, and open minded.

Sierra, you seem like you try very hard to be a good parent and a good person. I will hand you that. You also write fairly well so I can only assume you are either quite intelligent or have some higher education. But I really feel you are a very unhappy person and to take aim at the city in which you live as if it is the root of all your unhappiness stomped on a lot of toes. You are also being offensive with an elitist attitude regarding the value of education and living in a city that caters to that mindset. I spent the majority of my life in a town with two major universities and a large teaching medical college and I can tell you, I came across PhD's that were recognized experts in their field of study but they could not spell the word "quarter," and a city population that was always notorious for the lowest known voter turnout on record.

I'm thinking I read your ideal state, the one in your opinion that will offer you unlimited happiness, is Colorado. That surprised me that a supposedly bright, single mom would leave a state with no state income tax and relocate to one that has a state tax and also higher property taxes. Making my money stretch, especially when I was supporting children, was always extremely important to me. And on the same note, leaving behind some of those almost loss leader restaurant deals that abound in Vegas that help out a family's budget is going to hurt, I'm sure. I've spent time in Colorado and it's definately not a choice of mine. I'd never get on a local data site and bash any city there but just between you and me, cold weather and snow capped mountains and health nuts running around in lycra with their bottles of designer water isn't my thing.

Will do! I'll need friends! LOL But it won't be until Oct-Nov

I am actually curious about the people who live here and hate it now. The ones who moved there with excitement and now hate it. What did you expect? Because clearly somewhere along the lines, something happened, and you became disappointed in something? I guess it's like when people move to Hawaii they think OMG it must be the bestest most greatest thing in the entire galaxies!1!!..but in reality, it's just another place to live.

People should only move for the following reasons: (IMO, of course)
1) Job offer
2) Family/Friends live there
3) Weather/Change of Scenery

I don't really know why someone would move other than those reasons. Living in flat ass ugly NJ, LOL, I appreciate looking up and seeing just endless mountains. I also despise humidity as well as the snow. (I know it can snow there, but not as much as we can get!)
