Thanks for the info. I'm aiming for much more than that anyway. For me, the extra money would be justified for all the trouble of relocating my family.

BTW, how does your wife enjoy the warm weather in LV?

Interesting in a way...She came out of Canada about 40 years ago...though we still have extensive family and go back every few years. She then lived in Los Angeles until our move here 11 years ago. She is a dual citizen.

She and I both like and tolerate the heat. We however find the winters cold. We try to go to Mexico for a couple of weeks in January to warm up.

65K for a family of five in Las Vegas??? WOW!!!

You won't be doing much other than going to work, coming home and watching TV.

You can aim for much more than that, the big question is: will you actually get what you are aiming for?

Not much point in living in Vegas if you can't do anything Seriously, have to agree, $65,000 would just pay the bills, not much for anything extra.

$65000 is rougly 1.5 times the median household income in Las Vegas. So perhaps 20% or so of the population exceed it. Your opinion is 80% of the population is unable to do anything but work and watch TV? I don't think so.

I think someone who makes 9000 a month and rents and thinks they barely make enough to get by, needs to look into some serious money management. ($400-$600 a month on entertainment?!)

I don't live in Vegas yet (looking into it) and based on everything I have read on many sites and here, it seems someone making 70k (not to mention 108k like you) could do just fine. I think youre leading JBA astray.

No offense but someone who makes 108K a year and cant save for a house? Maybe living like 5 kings is the problem. Man I am sorry, your post just blew me away. You should pick up the book Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey.
