New to this area and my son has been attending this school Anyone out there that can tell me any postives about this school?? Can't find any yet. Does anyone know how you can send your child to a different Clark County School apart from moving? Not mentioning my comments here but can if there are griefers.
Thanks

Check out other schools in the area - and apply at them for a *Zone Varience* You may or may not get it so I'd check out several schools and apply at each of them. Its basicly a request for your student to go to another school in the area. However unless you have *great* reason's you might not get approved for it. Also talk to that schools principal if you can and see what they say - they may have another school in the area they can refer you too. If nothing else - theres always K-12 (online public school). Good luck!

Greatschools.org is a great place to check the rankings of area schools. As well as this link that I got from another member here - its a bit old but the ranks don't change drasticly each year so it gives you an idea. Schools of Las Vegas Rankings

Apply to go to one of the tech high schools, those are really the best schools in Vegas, private school education, at a public school price. All of the parents of kids in those schools are teachers, and principals...so...get the paperwork and apply, but the enrollment is not until you are selected, in the Spring.

we live in the mojave high zone and were told it was a horrible school . we look for a charter school and found innovations international. we just started our second year so far it's not that bad. it's a bit of a drive but the kids are safe at this school. education wise, it's not bad for clark county schools. it's a small school with k-12.

Getting your kid in at a different public school can be difficult, unless you have a REALLY good reason.

Like others have said, you can try applying for tech and magnet schools in the spring, but I believe selection for these schools is based on a lottery system, so there's no guarantee.

Your other options are online school, homeschooling, private school, or just sticking it out at Legacy HS (if he's a good kid, he should be able to manage even if the school isn't great...).
