It smells like an old casino that doesn't have the upgraded air flow systems. So, it smells like cigarettes and Carpet Fresh.

Default Binions Pool

When I was at 4Q last month, I spent my days laying in the sun by the pool, and my nights hanging out on Fremont. It was the perfect vacation! The pool at Binions was amazing. It was only 26th floor with clear walls so there was a 360 view of the valley. The pool was actually warm enough to swim after some intial "get used to the water" time and had a real deep end where I spent my while in the water. Also, there were lounge chairs AND pool beds. I took a nap every day on the bed. Sunny and 88 every day, it was just awesome (though I would have preferred it a little hotter) I was usually the only person there. I also went back up at night for the view.

In this one, you can see the pool I was at last trip at The Cal, it's in the shadow

My bed

Oh yes it does. Someone told me that it is an artificial "fragrance" pumping through the central ventilation system to help the place smell better.

Most hotels do that . It helps to cover the fragrance of the clientele

The funky smell is part of the "charm" of the El Cortez... one of many "charms"!
