I am considering moving to Nevada, I'm 22 years old and there is nothing for me in my current state(NY). I was wondering what the living expenses for a single guy would be. I plan on renting a apartment a 1bdr. Also how much money should i have before i make the move. Any information is appreciated.

Las Vegas is much worse than NY for employment right now. It's not a good place to move because the economy is so bad.

Don't even consider coming here unless you have a serious bankroll that will support you for a year or more. And you need to have some kind of education or a marketable skill.

Living expenses, well I can guesstimate. Food, rent, car, insurance, utilities, gas, I would say at least $2000 per month. That's with no fun money too. That's no party budget and working....

Military service might be an option.

I manage to live here on $800 a month. That includes rent, utilities, car insurance, gas and food. It can be done if you are reasonably frugal.

What part of New York do you live in? Let me know so I can compare your living expenses if you move here.

Unfortunately, since it is such a small town, I was unable to do a cost of living comparison.
