OP, did you move ahead on your desert landscaping? I am in the same situation myself, about to rip out dead lawn and go with plants, drip systems and rocks/gravel. Just curious on how you have done so far.

or instead of picking up the day laborers, post a job on craigslist at $10hr... you will get ALOT of hits.. use an email not a phone number in the ads.. i tried the day laborer thing.. at first it was ok, then they would get to the house and want even more $$

Still working on the back yard. Haven't touched the front yet. I have some things I'm going to keep and I've been watering them by hand. I also have 8 trees I need to remove. I think it's going to cost a lot to have that done.

And I'm stalling for cooler weather too!
