I have been entertaining the idea of living there but I HATE the heat and despise the sun. But, I'm not really an outdoor person and I figure the only time I'll be outside is walking from my air-conditioned car into an air-conditioned building. I can do all the outdoors type things during the cooler months of the year.

You'd probably be miserable here so maybe you'd better not come. But do you understand what heat is like with NO humidity?

You must be kidding. SD has the best weather in the country. I'd move there if it didn't cost a fortune and there were about 2 million less people.

I've been very curious about this whole no humidity thing. I'm from Philadelphia, which is infamous for it's hot, humid summers. Still, if it's 114 degrees, that has to be unbearable, humid or not.

Depends on what you like. I don't particularly care for the CA coastal plain. Get inland 10 miles it is not bad but the coast itself is way too cool and overcast and hazy. Nice in the fall and OK in the winter but not very nice in spring and summer.

Anything above 105 is unpleasantly hot particularly in the sun. 100 however is still pleasant enough for yard work if the humidity is low. So you simply try to do the outside stuff before noon. Staying wet also works. 110 in the shade on the patio is cool if you hit the pool every 15 minutes.

I have no problem hiding inside with the AC on full blast. I can forsee A LOT of time spent indoors if I move to Vegas.

I second the humiduty quote!! Dry heat is MUCH better then humidity!!
A summer in Vegas is much better then that in Mississippi...

I understand. It's like sticking your head into a hot oven. Dam hot is what it's like.

I've lived on both sides. Lived in the midwest, the south and Las Vegas for 10 years. Personally I think the 100 - 110 degree temperatures are worse than say 80 with humidity. Hot is hot, with or without humidity.
