We are not getting there til August and I don't want to show up and have to go out and buy a bunch of clothing all at once. I'm already starting to keep an eye out for "acceptable clothing items" for my oldest who will be entering middle school.

I know at the middle school level the tighter dress code is in effect (collars, specific colors, etc....) but have not been able to find out about the elementary level, short of calling all possible elementary schools my two middle kids would attend.

I am aware of the general dress code that seems to be standard everywhere regarding sleeves, length of shirts, short/skirt length, holes in the jeans, etc...I am just wondering if the elem age kids need to wear collared shirts like the older ones.

And no, we don't really know where we will be living yet. Either renting on base (which may be a school issue for my middle schooler) or renting in Henderson or possibly NW from the west end of the Legacy High zoning area and over.

Thanks!

The on base school does not have a uniform policy, collared shirts not required.

My third grader's school does have a uniform policy - specific colors, no jeans, no logos (except school logo), etc. Collared shirts not required though.

So I guess it is by elementary school, then. I was wondering if they just got stricter with the older kids - guess not.

I guess the best thing I can do is as soon as I know where we will be living is to call the school. That might get me 2-4 wks to run out and get the clothes or order them. I guess that is plenty and beats guesswork and wasted money and beats moving in the middle of the year with no time).

Thank you!
