Vegas is no worse or better than any other big city.

What would you expect from Chris Hanson, he could go to any city and make it look unsafe.

it is simple untrue. The Vegas crime rate is too high to feature but too low to worry about. The Henderson numbers are quite low...and Summerlin and many other areas of Las Vegas would be similar.

That is a repeat show. And Kalbo is right. I was born and raised in Las Vegas and I have NEVER been the victim of any type of crime. Oh wait, I take that back - someone from work stole a pen from me (actually she borrowed it and never returned it).

Other than that, I am still crime-free.

Vegas is statically an unsafe city vs others it ranks number one in car thefts and property crime . Nothing to hang your hat on.

You are contradicting yourself. What does car thefts or property crimes have anything to do with safety? Places like Detroit, Washington DC, or Los Angelos have more violent crimes than Las Vegas.

Vegas is safer than DC, but not nearly as safe as the Virginia Suburbs. Baghdad may very well be safer, too. I watched the program for the first time Sunday night. I missed the part about the teenage prostitutes, but saw the skin headed gangbangers at the "pawn shop." There are entirely way too many people like that in LV. Quite a bit worse than Phoenix. Car insurance is sky high; I think it is clear why. I've met some quality people from CCSD (graduates), but they are by far the exception and not the rule on what kind of people attend their schools, and what career path they are on. Good to see LVPD busting them, (for the cameras, anyway) and the judges awarding them room and board.

Have you ever lived in Phoenix? There are MORE gangbangers in Phoenix than here, trust me.

Dateline exaggerating crime in order to create irrational fears?
Who would have guessed?

If it bleeds, it leads!
