Any advice would help....thanks!

Me and my husband are making the decision between buying a new home at The Mesa (Ladera Terrace) or The Vistas in Summerlin. Both communities will build a new home in our price range. We like the homes more at The Mesa and they come at at a better price but looks like the schools around The Vistas have better ratings. We are stuck on which area to choose so we are hoping some of you on this forum can help us out. We are looking for your opinions regarding preferences for the areas, schools, neighborhood, crime, .. anything.

Thanks!

Either community is good, if schools are important to you then go with the one that best suits you.

Newbees,
My family and I just moved to Summerlin where we are currently renting. We have looked at both places and in fact have looked several times before our move. We went into the Mesa(Ladera Ranch) yesterday, and eliminated this area as a possibility because of the schools. The Mesa houses are nice, but the schools are not. The elementary school is fine, but we have heard the Middle school and high school are mediocre. There is the Bishop High School next to Mesa, but were told it cost 14k a year, so that is not a option for us. We have 2 young boys and one of them is enrolled in Givens in the Vista area and we are pleased so far. Well, good luck with you search.

Both The Mesa and The Vistas are beautiful Summerlin villages – you can’t go wrong with either option. Summerlin is a well developed and highly programmed community that offers an unparalleled lifestyle. The pros of The Vistas village are its western location in the heart of Summerlin and its proximity to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and dozens of completed amenities, including highly-ranked schools, churches, retail centers, parks, etc.The Mesa village is located adjacent to a mountain range (Spring Mountain). It offers homeowners a quiet village absent of major valley thoroughfares. The Mesa village is Summerlin’s newest and most southern village developed to date so many of its amenities are forthcoming. If you’re looking to live in an established area with the amenities already in place and close to your home, I would recommend The Vistas. If you’re looking for a more secluded address, I would recommend The Mesa. Both villages will offer you all the perks of a Summerlin address including access to the community’s hundreds of amenities. More information on both villages is available on Summerlin Las Vegas - Summerlin Homes. I would strongly recommend spending some time on the site. I definitely spent a lot of time exploring the community before I bought my home in The Vistas village – I absolutely love it. It’s a wonderful place to live.Best of luck with your home search.
