Hello, and thank you yet again for all the advice! This forum has literally been my lifeline since I moved to Vegas!!!

I am looking for a nice chinese restaurant - as close to the North East (like NYC) chinese as one can find here in LV. Can anybody recommend a specific restaurant? I've been to a few, especially around the Chinatown area, but so far, the experiences have been really disappointing .

Thanks in advance for all the help!

You can try Food Express, 2003 S. Decatur, (702) 870-1595. I don't know what you consider "nice" but it is authentic Chinese food and very good.

How is it that New Yawk Chinese food can be better than authentic Chinese food by actual Chinese people in Chinatown?

There is a restaurant on Ft. Apache called "New York Chinese" which claims to have NY-style Chinese food. I think it's between Flamingo and Desert Inn.

Just looked it up, they have two locations: http://www.n-y-c-r.com/Home.asp (broken link)

I'm also new here -- less than a year -- there's a Chinatown here?

I can't personally vouch for it - - yet - - but Man vs. Food went to Hot N Juicy Crawfish on Spring Mountain Rd. as part of its Las Vegas episode, and the place looked great. I also looked at yelp, and there are 125 individual ratings there with an average rating of four stars (on a scale from 1 to 5). So, it is definately a place that I'm going to check out when I move here in a couple of weeks. Here's a link to yelp:
