I dont wanna spend so much $$$ on the clubs and such at the strip. Any cool clubs/bars/ eatery off the strip? In Henderson?

At Desert Shores in the NW side of town , you can check out Marche Bacchus, its a wine store/bistro with outdoor dining overlooking the lake. In Henderson at the District, I like the Elephant Bar because it serves one of my favorite dishes, Lamb Shank, King's Fish House is good too. In the Southwest side of town in a small strip mall is Caffe Dolce, I like the food and the ambiance, with atrium dining. Not as busy as the other places but worth checking, It could be a nice restaurant for a romantic dinner.
Marche Bacchus - French Bistro & Wine Market
Welcome to Caffe Dolce Las Vegas

As far as nitelife, Red Rock Resort is a nice place in the NW side of town and Aliante in the new North Las Vegas is worth checking off the Vegas Strip.

Love M. resort especially Rockstar Karaoke Thursdays in Ravello lounge @ M (Live band). My new favorite weekday activity.

Veloce at M has great views

Town Square has lots of shopping/places to eat.

What is your reasoning here? When I hear statements like this it makes me think the poster might have a preconcieved notion or two about the Strip or Las Vegas in general. What exactly are you trying to avoid, and what do you hope to do/find in Las Vegas?

I recommend getting out to Red Rock...Valley of Fire....Yes, even Hoover Dam (not so much the Dam or getting out there, just think there's some great scenery and a nice, short drive). Even some horse back riding across from Red Rock and out at Mt. Charleston. If you're a midwest guy like myself, the scenic views out here are just too good to pass up.

And for a great view of the valley at a nice bar, I highly recommend Lindo Michoacan (lol, formally La Collina, then Carmine's - I guess location ain't everything) out in Henderson.

Thanks for all the responses. Well, my dad lives here and i visit here all the time. When my cali friends come over, all we do is do everything on the strip. Sure its fun, but one time we spent over $2000 in one night at the XO club.

We are pretty much tourists except Im technically a resident here. (i go to school out of state)
I have also lived in Oklahoma and i miss doing the exact same clubbing (nice clubs) for just $100 or less.
Any clubs that aren't ghetto for that price range in vegas?
I will check out those other areas too, THANKS =)

In Vegas there is more happening OFF the strip than ON the strip in my view.

Especially when it comes to reasonably priced eateries.
