Yes. That's normal. We don't have basements. So we put the furnace in the attic.

Interesting! Here if you don't have a basement, the furnace is generally put in a utility closet on the main floor. I've never seen one in an attic.

Our furnace is also in the attic. I think it's weird.

ARGHHHHH
You were hosed. Never replace contactors or capacitors until they fail. Every checkup always finds one or the other bad...but the ones they found bad 7 years ago are still going strong.

My checkups for a 5 ton and a 3 ton cost 150.

Duct cleaning can only make efficency worse and then not by much. These are 6 inch or greater tubes we are removing the inner 1/16th inch of insulation. That is not going to do anything good. And not much bad.

Coils are different. There dust or dirt hampers heat transfer...but not in the ducts.

That's it for me.
Spent the day at Boulder Beach, walked into my house and a wall of heat smacked me in the lips.
Air is on.

We are only turning the a/c on at night in order so sleep. Of course it will come on if it gets warmer than 88 during the day.

AC is still off in the house. Me and my wife have a bet on who gives in first to turn it on. I almost gave in yesterday. Our energy bills have been in the $50-60 range so far. Enjoying it while it lasts.

Haven't turned mine on yet. Peak temperature inside of 76° today, so I've still got awhile.

With a $46 bill last month I'm really dreading turning it on. Saturday will probably be the day or tomorrow after my run haha.
