Hi everyone,

I will be moving to Las Vegas in late June. I am contemplating between high rise luxury rentals with views of the strip versus apartment complexes in once of the safer and nicer suburbs such as Green Valley and Summerlin (I'm sure there are much more communities but these two are what I've been told by friends to look into so far). My work will require rotating through office locations in both Las Vegas (near Sunrise and Mountain view hospitals) and Green Valley area.

I'm leaning toward leasing a high rise at the moment since I will likely end up buying a home in one of the suburbs a few years down the road, so it would be nice to experience living in one of the high rise buildings for a few years. However, I am worried about traffic around the strip during rush hours, and also overall safety in the area. Would appreciate thoughts on traffic issues, and recommendations on high-rise with great views, amenities, and overall safety, just in case I decide to go with high-rise. So far, based on searches in this forum, I've come acrossed Panorama and Turnberry Tower as nice places to look into. Any others? Is there a rental listing I can search from? I think I read Olecapt posting that there are many high-rise units available but I'm not sure where to search for these high-rise units.

As far as suburbs, I've read Altessa and Wellington Meadows are good. Any other nice apt complexes I should look into, preferably in Summerlin area and one does not have significant management, crime, or bug issues? (I know I can't avoid this completely, but just hoping to minimize it.)

I know some of the members on this forum are in the real estate field. I would appreciate your help/advice. I am looking for 2bdrm, 2bath, and hoping to spend less than 2500 (preferably under 2000) for high-rise and less than 1500 for apartment condos in suburb.

Thanks in advance to everyone responding.
