We DO get wind storms once in a while, but not so often as this season. And yes, this coming weekend the forecast is for the mid-90's and hardly a breeze, and usually that combined with the date.. signals the start of the coming heat.

I can't wait. My old King Kool lounger with the single cup holder is lonely...lol

I've been complaining about the wind before summer the past few years it seems. It can be hot, cold, raining (love) but I cannot stand wind.

Thanks for the info on takeoff and landings. I just checked weatherunderground and it looks like the wind will subside some by the weekend. And yes my luggage will be lighter when I leave teehee. We are here for the Money Show at Ceasars and Im actually not going to gamble much today. Down quite a bit for the trip but decided to gamble less and TIP more this trip. We love this town and hope to buy a winter home here. I've been following this forum to get ideas on home buying but I have to say I have fallen in love with many of you on this site. The kindness you all show in taking the time to respond to complete strangers really says a lot about the quality of people that Live in Vegas.

I don't know how accurate Weatherunderground's historical temp's are but, here we go:

Period 5-16 thru 6-1

No 100's in that period for 2007, 2004, 1999, 1995, 1996, 1998. In 1996 & 1998 the temp never went above 91 during that period.

Period 6-1 thru 6-15

Last year and 1998, the temp's never exceeded 100 during that period.
(Shows you my loss of memory, even a year ago I couldn't remember that?)

1996 was the hotter year, 100+ every day but 1. Now that I remember as I moved here June 1 of that year.

1999 statistic which popped out at me: 6-4-99 highest temp that day 66!
But it rained the night before!

History stops at 1995, but sometime ago when I did some research there was a year, don't know which, 1993 or 1994 that scared the beejeezus out of me, the hottest year I saw on history. Let's hope we never repeat that!

It is exceptionally cold today.
Right now it is 2:00pm, and my thermometer shows that it is only 56 degrees outside. The wind is gusting to 40 mph which makes the wind chill even worse. Yes, I am talking about wind chill in late May.
It is crazy.

Wow, I just got to work. It is freezing out there. I just looked on the weather channel, and it is only 55. It also said it is getting into the 40's tonight.

This is unbelievable for southern Nevada at this time of year. In Northern Nevada you might see weather like this in July, but not down here. It snowed on Mt. Charleston today and they had to rescue two hikers that either didn't get the word, or they ignored the weather forecast.
