Does Las Vegas have E-85 stations? I figured they would but thought i'd ask. Are they few and far between or at every pump? Thanks!

Thanks!

I found that website online as well. Some fuel stations in Missouri where I lived stop carrying E-85 but the website didn't reflect it. Have you seen E-85 at the pumps where you live?

Yes, I go to the E85 stations only once a year when my car needs emissions testing. It makes it pass every year.

Just to open up a further discussion on E-85...as I'd love to be a bit more educated on it.

Isn't that a fuel made out of mostly corn?

How much does a gallon of that cost? Do you need your car designed for that...or your fuel tank changed for that...or does the car have to just be created for that specifically?

It is a bit cheaper but burns at an alarmingly faster rate.

I use it in my mustang. It acts at 110 octane... ie: cheap race fuel. Expect 1/2 the fuel mileage and consumption rate to be through the roof. It is 85% ethenol (corn) and does burn "cleaner" than gasoline. You can only use it on vehicles that are built for it. My mustang has two fuel systems to accommodate normal gas and E-85. If you see a vehicle with flex fuel, the vehicle can handle E-85. Do not put E-85 in a normal run of the mill vehicle and if you do, don't do it for very long.

My daughter accidently put E-85 in her 4 week old Nissan. She had filled it with about 5 gallons when she suddenly realized that she was pumping E-85. She immediately called me and I went a bit ballistic on her about not paying attention to what she was doing.

We parked the car and jumped on the net to do some research. I found that a LOT of people had done the same thing. I also read that occasionally mixing E-85 with regular fuel is not a bad thing. The alcohol in the E-85 cleans the inside of the engine. There were even pictures of broken down engines where occasional E-85 was used in place of regular fuel. They were CLEAN! No build up of crap on them.

We went back, got the car and topped it off with regular fuel to dilute the E-85 as a precaution. She continued for the next 4 fill ups topping it off before it reached the 1/2 a tank mark. She hasn't experienced any problems with the car at all.

Yes, but does the exhaust have a popcorn type smell to it?

Your car should easily pass smog. Why would you commit fraud like that? And why would you openly admit it, almost as if bragging about it?
