Where can I find workers/movers to help me move some furniture from my current apartment to new one. How much do they cost (per/hour? or per item etc)? Is it safe to let people infront of Home Depot into your house or should I check something?

Thank you.

Are you moving crosstown? Are you moving within the same complex?

If across town hire a moving company. The cost is $80-$100 an hour.

If it's in your complex bribe neighbors with beer/pizza.

Yes, they are heroes waiting to spring into action. I saw one of them concealing a cape yesterday. In all seriousness, I laughed out loud at your question.

I am moving apartment within LV. But I have only a few furniture to move. And as a girl inviting guys from Home Depot into my house I would rather be laughed at and check their cape at the door than be sorry. :-) . All I meant is do they have some contractor card or worker permit or something even if it might be a little more costly?

Most movers in town charge $80-100 an hour. They are licensed. If you hire someone in front of home depot you run the risk of them getting hurt and suing you.

Yup...as Mom2 says Warrens...

It will cost around $200 but it will be done perfectly with nothing busted and no need to be concerned about who knows what.

I have used Warren's in one way or another a dozen times. All very nicely done.

When I moved into town about exactly a year ago (May 15, 2009), I used Starving Students. They were great. Here's their site, as their rates can vary. They'll be cheaper than the pros, though, that's for sure... and hiring them will be legal.
