Ok so Im looking at two possible rooms to rent. One is near Ann and Rainbow, right off 95 in the NW, rent would be $300 all included

The other is off Robindale and Jones near 15 and 215 in the SW. Rent would be $350, all included

The one in the NW is 15 yrs old (according to the owner) The one in SW is less then 5 years old, and closer to the strip

Which area do you guys think would be better? More places to apply for jobs, etc?

Who are the owners? Are they OK people? Drug dealers? Do they actually own the home?

Did you check to make sure the house isn't in foreclosure so you don't have to worry about having to leave before you're ready to?

Me personally, I'd go with Ann and 95, but I'm more partial to the West side of town. I guess really, either one is OK, six of one, half dozen of the other. Both locales with easy access to highways, I'm not sure about the bus routes though.

Maybe doing one of those $10.00 online background checks on the owner of the home would be a good idea?

Just my opinion, as a Mom, can't help it. After you do that, then I'd say go for it!

The east side has better public transportation than the west side.
However, the east is shadier than than the west also.

For Ann/95 and Robindale/Jones, you need to have a car if you choose either one. IMO both places are in remote areas and don't have effective bus systems. Try to live closer to Tropicana/Flamingo/Spring Mountain/Sahara if you want easy strip access as they have 24 hours bus service across the town.

I'll be driving my car out to LV M.

I also prefer the NW...but I am not looking for a job.

Go to the Robindale one. That is more central and more convenient for strip and center city job hunting.

If you get it going good you can move later.

The Jones/Robindale location also gives you easy access to the 215 Beltway and opens up Henderson as another job-site possibility. I used to live not too far from that area, and Henderson is only 15 minutes or so away.

Both locations are good. Also, IF you had to take the bus for any reason, it does go through the Ann/95 area regularly. If it were me, I'd go for newer. And do like MomMom said, make sure everything is on the up and up before you commit.

I vote Robindale and Jones for location and proximity to the strip and henderson, but shopping is rainbow/215 area or LV blvd and Warmsprings.

That's right we have more trees on the east side.

May I ask what $300 or $350 can get in LV? a studio or 1-bedroom? Is this the average rent in LV?
It seems so affordable compare to California.
Oh and what does "all included" mean? It probably includes water and garbage but what else?
