Can someone please comment on the quality of food at the Las Vegas Chinatown restaurants? I see there are several Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean restaurants. Are these generally good or are there better mid-priced Asian restaurants around the city?

I will tell you there is a great Chinese bakery, Sunville, on Spring Mtn across from BofA. Sponge cake to die for! And the almond pound cake is great too.

I cant think of the name of the Korean joint, but it's open 24 hours and I liked it. They have specials late at night, maybe someone can chime in with the name...

Joyful House is a decent Chinese restaurant in Chinatown.

Joyful House is awesome. Kung Fu is also excellent but they are more Thai than Chinese.

I have a lot of friends that do not like Sam Woo BBQ but I enjoy it.

Some good, some bad. I had one good meal at Sam Woo BBQ, and after that the food went down hill, and the service was bad too. I'd say the restaurants I've tried there (maybe ten in all) have been about 50/50. Phó (actually pronounced Fuh) Kim Long (I'm not kidding) Vietnamese restaurant is usually very good. And the Chinese patio restaurant inside the enclosed shopping center is good. Don't know the name. On up the hill, west of Decatur, Cathay House used to be excellent, but last time we were there the waiter was so rude we haven't been back. Someone recommended Phó Saigon, but we tried it and it was pretty bad. There are much better Asian restaurants all around town, but Chinatown is an experience.

Never eaten at any of these places but haven't liked what I read in the Restaurant Health Reports on Wednesdays in the R J. Sometimes disgusting!

We've eaten at Emperor's Garden a few times, and like it a lot. There can be a bit of a language barrier between you and the staff, but they're very nice and the food is good.

That really doesn't tell us anything gramps, since there isn't a restaurant by that name. You could be referring to Phó Saigon 8 or Phó Little Saigon. I suspect it is the latter as its reviews are a notch below the other nearby Phó restaurants.
