I waited at the stephanie st location today for 4.25 hours and still did not fet my license. I had to leave to pick up my daughter from camp. I was in at 10 on a wendsday. Was told to wait about 2 hrs, ok i was prepared for that, but then it went on and on and on. I calculated the average amt of customers served per half hour interval, bc who had time to kill? Moi. The average amount of customers seen every 30 mins was 11. And thenplace is ginormous.
I am on here researching a different location. Bonus, if youre getting a new license you can not male an appointment. Even an out of state license.

Good luck and god speed. Hopefully they hire some more people.

Also, government personal: Its a drain on our society to force people to ascertain a service that also saps a day of their lives. Think of all that productivity lost. All the economic stimulation gone. Plus, lots of grumpy people.

I feel your pain. It took nearly five hours at the Flamingo DMV when my son got his learner's permit recently. I've had mixed results at the Henderson DMV. First time we were in and out in about 90 minutes. Another time was a several hour wait.

Unfortunately, as someone else mentioned, I don't think there's a "better DMV". Wait times seem to be the luck of the draw. The good news is that the text messaging system works really well, so there's no need to wait around all day. If that's not feasible for whatever reason, your only option is to suck it up, set aside a day, and wait it out. It is what it is.

Go to Mesquite DMV office, then have lunch at a casino and drive back. Nice little road trip.

One of my friends also said to go to Laughlin. He said there were maybe 4 people waiting. Mesquite is a good idea, too. Make a day trip out of it if you have the time.

You can schedule an appointment online to get a NV driver license if you have a current out-of-state driver license. Your statement above makes no sense unless you were there to take the written test for a first time application, or had a suspended license.

I got my DL (new resident) in 45 minutes with an online appointment scheduled--from check in to photo. Same for my wife and daughter. At Stephanie.

YES! Make an appointment! I had to go a few weeks ago and made an appointment. There were hundreds of people waiting for their number to be called and another 20 people in line just to check in so that they could be placed in line for assistance. Since I made an appointment online I got to check in at the online appointment desk which didn't have anyone in line. Once I checked in the DMV rep told me I was automatically put at the front of the line and would be helped in a couple minutes. Sure enough, my number was called before I could even sit down. I even checked in an hour before my appointment time but it didn't matter. As soon as I checked in I was put at the front of the line. I wasn't even in the building for 15 minutes. It blew me away how many people chose to simply walk in and wait hours to be helped.

This. ^^

I relocated from out-of-state and needed to apply for a new DL, both commercial & motorcycle. I made an appointment at the Decatur office a week ago. I waited no more than a minute, and the entire process took less than 20.

I scheduled appointments only for the Henderson/Stephanie location for both car registration and DL and was in and out in less than 30 minutes for each.

At one time there was an office at Indian Springs, but I believe that it has been closed.
