What's the difference between a $200 shirt and a $10 shirt? Ans. $190.

Does anyone remember Suitcase Murphy? He was an old dude that you'd see all over town with his sample cases, either walking, hitching, or riding the bus. He would come around to where you were working or to your home, and he'd measure you up for hand made clothes that fit like a glove. And they didn't cost that much either.

Now days shirts are stain free, wrinkle free, odor free, and shrink free. My wife washes them, then hangs them and sprays a little water on them and pats them down to take any wrinkles out.

Silk is a problem sometimes though. Don't ever let a laundry wash them.

Default re:Laundry for men's dress shirts?

If you’ve ever searched online or asked your friends for clothing care advice, you’ve probably found that it can be a bit like asking a group of geriatrics about how to cure the common cold: everyone has their own preferred, home-brewed remedy that they allege works best, but which the listener will never be able to successfully duplicate. Yet despite the plethora of folk knowledge floating around out there, if you don’t take care of your garments you could be slowly destroying them.

Doesn't anybody do their own work anymore?
Why take time out of a BUSY day to wash, dry, iron, fold..etc shirts when I can just "schlep" to the store, drop them off, then pick them up in a couple of days.

Usually people stop by the dry cleaners on the way to another destination. Thats what I do. I never go out of my way to the dry cleaners. Its always on the way home, to work, baby sitter, gas station..etc.

Some people have busy schedules. It is also an added luxury that I feel that I deserve. If times got hard, dry cleaning would be the first to go.
