because there isn't enough legal immigration
and that illegals shouldn't have to bother filling out forms, paying fees or waiting their turn. The pro-illegals think anyone who wants to come, skilled, unskilled, uneducated or educated, able to work or welfare recipient should be handed citizenship when they arrive, no questions asked.
The question remains - how many millions new people can the USA take in and give a cozy comfortable living when jobs are not there?
well no medal but dont target them. and since when an International student get welfare/benefits????? visa holders r not eligible for any benefits/welfare programs.

Have no idea why you quoted my post and then proceded to write about illegal immigration- again.
The thread shouldn't have started life in the illegal immigration forum- look at the thread name.
US should be very happy with the Mexicans... If they would know what kind of immigrants UK gets they'll give free houses to all the illegal Mexicans )
Now... I'm not a fan of Mexicans but I'm a fan of open borders. People who believe that if US will allow anybody to come there will be millions moving there are naive. EU has open borders within the EU and the immigration from poor Eastern European countries to Western European countries wasn't that bad (only 5 million people in 7 years)
Another fact is that immigrants (legal or illegal) create jobs and are good for the economy. US would be no different than Mexico if it didn't had immigration
We let in one million a year, legally, far too many in my opinion and the majority are from the third world.
Yes but imagine an educated person, like a doctor or an engineer. He would be beneficial to any country. More so than you. He might be less expendable for the US than you are?
No way. We have enough poor people despite our corporations crying about not having enough peons to pay minimum wage to. On the other side of the token, we should not be pillaging the best and brightest from the third world so that those countries are unable to improve their own fortunes. The world is overpopulated as it is. Here's a great response to a Nytimes blog about the issue;
Despite the focus on Africa, India is the biggest culprit in the population explosion. Despite it's apparent wealth and growth, India has more poor and malnourished people than the whole of Sub-Saharan Africa. Religious zealots routinely proclaim the necessity of women to bear more children in order to stave off the rising numbers of the "other". Here in the US, Christian conservatives press the Govt. to defund population control measures in the third world. Will these same people welcome the rising tide of humanity into the vast open spaces of America? While philanthropic organizations like the Gates Foundation throw money at saving at-risk children with vaccines, they do not fund equivalent population control measures in order to offset the elimination of a natural growth check.
At the other extreme, business leaders routinely scare people about a population crash in the hope that ever exploding human growth will fuel business expansion. In this scenario, there are very few voices calling out for limiting our numbers, while giving the other flora and fauna on our planet a chance. Thank God that at least the Chinese people have voluntarily limited their numbers, creating a better life for their people. Another piece of good news is the falling fertility rate in the Middle-East. Otherwise there is very little good news on the over-population front. More people, fewer tigers, polar bears, rhinos, open spaces. What a depressing future.
The problem is, Americans are reproducing at replacement level, we tend to have only the number of children we can afford and want. We're not doing the third world population explosion thing, breeding like rabbits and bringing children into the world we cannot support. But - now we've become the solution for all those nations whose people have no sense of responsibility. They've destroyed their own environments, turned their own cities into endless slums but and want to dump their excess populations into the USA.
Welfare rates of immigrants are ridiculous. If they were responsible in the first place, stayed in school, delayed the start of their families, they wouldn't need here to get the food stamps and free health care.
Good immigrants are fine, but they should be responsible types who will support themselves and the children they produce here.
