Were you to bother contacting the respective department at your eductional institution instead of asking about "holes in the law" you might get the appropriate answer.

You cannot extend it. You could look into switching to another visa, such as an F1 student visa if you have the funds.

Students need to be grad students with compelling academic or medical reasons for an extension and a recommendation by the academic dean; a new I20 will be issued and the requirements such as finances have to be documented.
