can you buy a housse and ask for a bank mortgage?

Both have no voting rights so no difference there. You have to be an American Citizen to be allowed to vote.
E2 visa holders spouse will get a SSN but not their kids which is another hurdle for E2 visa holders.
You can buy a home even without a visa. Getting a mortgage is based on financial proof and different lenders have different criteria.

So if these E2 visa holders want to try and earn a green card then they shouldn't be allowed to? They are doing everything legally and even paying this country a lot of money to have their business here and make some money. You are thinking about all those ILLEGALS whom the President is ignoring the law for.......Maybe instead of whining and complaining you should do some research and get some facts about those on the E2 visa

Are you directing this to me? I know what an E2 visa is and thee is no path to a green card but a bill on the table that probably won't make it due to lack of support.
If illegals get a path to a green card than this group should be ahead of them a they are legal and support the economy!

You have mentioned some good points about E2 treaty investor visa. I am not agree with life can be very tough for the E2 treaty investor visa holder. As long as you legally own 50% of the new business being established, are involved in the intraday workings and development, and contribute a substantial monetary investment– E2 treaty investor visa may be a great fit for your business and immigration plan.

E2 visa holders are the "forgotten" group of legal aliens.
I doubt there will be any new law for this group as every time a bill is proposed it is not going anywhere.
Very sad as this group provides jobs.

The last time something like this was remotely true was 31 years ago, by the grace of the Patron Saint of the GOP, Ronald Reagan.

I agree here. At the very minimum, they should be allowed to apply for H1B without going through the cap lottery.

Forgotten? But this group of people, (who have money and means) can renew their visas indefinitely, and they have different tax liabilities due to treaties between US and their home country.
