Hi every one,
I need your help guys !! I am from north Africa (black African) . I won DV lottery !! I went to USA Colorado where I have a friend there and got my green card and went back to my country. Now , I am planning to move permanently to USA and I have no clue to which state I move. I have master degree in telecommunication from Germany (in English) with experience in some telecom equipment.
As you have friends in Colorado why do you not start your job search from there, get your credit history started and learn about everyday life in the US.
When did you activate your Green Card?
I can not stay with my friend, he has a family and children, and I prefer to stay in my own place. I activated it last February. Honestly, I can not afford staying there without job for more than 3 months, that is why I am looking for a state where I can find a place to work in 2 months at least .
At least stay close to your friends in the beginning even if you can't actually live with them. I'm sure they would help find you a reasonable place to stay and of course would be around to help you find your way around and get settled.
Thanks. Is there any chance that I could find a job while I am outside. I have registered in some websites like Monster and USAJOBS but I had feeling that, companies and recruiters prefer people who are there .
It'll be very difficult for you to find a job while outside the US unless you are huuugely qualified. Recruiters will be put off by the foreign address on your resume for starters, and the difficulty of having you come in to interview. They may also think you'd need sponsorship. No-one can guarantee you will find a job in 2 months, no matter where you go. The economy is still depressed... but HP in Fort Collins, Colorado, may be a good place to check out.
