I have a friend who is a US citizen. She worked for many years in France and Germany where they took out taxes. Consequently, her US pension (social Security) is small (about $600/mo). Is there any way to transfer her pension amounts to the United States so that she can collect from those countries too in addition to her monthly US Social Security check?
US Social Security checks can be disbursed to someone living overseas so I'm sure there's likewise a similar operation in reverse. Only if a sufficient number of pension deductions were made from her overseas earnings which entitle her to those country's benefits would it be possible and she should check with the relevant agencies in those countries to see if she qualifies.
