Agreed it's off topic but it should be noted that if a British citizen becomes a US citizen, and although US law requires that a new citizen renounce all ties to former sovereignty, a British citizen does NOT lose his or her British citizenship unless he or she specifically renounces same to the British authorities.

A UK passport is more useful than a US passport when trying to travel or work internationally. A US passport is great, but its never been as useful as a UK passport.

Best solution - have both.

Which is what my wife did. Born a US citizen but also a naturalized Brit.

what if, say, you're a GC holder with no immediate US citizen family in the US, and then get sick/horribly injured (maybe end up comatose, or can't work yet because of the severity of your injury)? will the US deport you since you're not a citizen and you don't have immediate US citizen family?

America won't even deport completely illegal immigrants, why would they deport a legal GC holder?
