Dear parents, my question is : if my husband can renew our son's US passport (5 years old) without my presence(wife)? If, yes, what needed? Does our son has to be there ? Or my husband can complete all alone? I heard that there should be pictures as a proof (from each year) of my son growing, correct? Pls any info will be helpful Tnanks
The child is under age 16 and so you will have to apply in person. Go to the first thread in this forum (immigration links) and open the second link. There you will find the info you need to renew a passport for a child under age 16. You will also find info on where to apply in your state.
I agree with Rance and both parents have to show up in person as well as the kid. Only if the parents are divorced the rules are different. You can always check your countries consulate or embassy website and there will be all the requirements.
As far as I know you have to have a valid passport which is valid for at least 6 months upon entering, so if they see it isn't valid for that time frame you could be denied entry.
What is the problem with applying for a new one...it is so easy!

Surely that does not apply to a US passport being used to enter the US?
The question was about a foreigner entering the US, in that case you need a passport valid for over 6 months.
Maybe I misunderstood but post #5 stated it was a US passport.
