if i register my car in pennsylvania then get rid of that car, do I get a refund for the registration?

My lease is up in October, but my registration expires in September. I don't want to pay for a new registration for only a month.

I'm 99% sure that you won't get a refund, but a ticket for non-registration would be expensive. I think you will have to bite the bullet.

You'll hear a mighty roar of laughs out of Harrisburg at the local after work watering holes for the bureaucrats and politicians if they see this question.

The conversation:
Politician #1: Some ignorant citizen wanted to know if he could pay 1/12 of a years registration on his car because he was getting rid of the car one month after the renewal date. Or even worst, he wanted a refund after one month!
Politician #2: No. That's so funny I spit beer out of my nose. Who are these ignorant peasants we so ably represent? I thought we funded education pretty well.
Politician #1: That was the other party. No, just another tax paying yoken from some backwater. Oh, wait, he's in my district!
Politician #2: Oh forget it. By the time the next election rolls around, that tax-paying stiff and thousands like him will have forgotten about it, because we'll have invented some seemingly important issue with which to differentiate ourselves from the opposing party.
Politician #1: Yea, on our next tax-payer funded golf outing, or lobbyist-paid junket to some resort somewhere, we'll have to find a smokey room, and confer with the opposition, and figure out who we're running, what districts to gerry-mander, and what issues to argue about. I love politics!
Politician #2: You got that right, this open-government stuff is so dreadful and boring. Bring back the days of back slapping and card playing in dark smokey rooms with the old-boy network. Just like in the old-time movies!
Politician #1: I'll drink to that!
