I am a 26 year old female who will be moving to the Lehigh Valley sometime next month, and I am looking for a studio/1 bedroom apartment in or around Bethlehem. I would prefer places in Northhampton county rather than Lehigh county because I will likely be taking some classes as NHCC, and the tuition is half as much if you are a Northhampton county resident. However, any suggestions about apartment complexes in the area would be helpful, including ones in Lehigh county.

Here is my info:

When are you moving? sometime around the middle of next month
Where are you coming from? This is a complicated question- in the last six months I have lived in Erie, PA, Hampton, NJ, and Hawley, PA, but I grew up in the suburbs of NYC.
Why are you moving? This is too complicated to go into.
Where will you be working? Not sure.
Have you been here yet? No

Will you buy or rent? rent
If buying, are you looking for a house or a condo? How much can you spend?
If renting, are you looking for an apartment, a townhouse or loft? How much can you spend? Probably an apartment. Hopefully no more than 700/month. I am fine with a small apartment, including a studio. What I care most about besides cost is that the apartment complex is decent (reliable maintenance, not too noisy, buildings that are not super old and falling apart, etc.) in a safe area.
Do you prefer hi-rise or walk up? Probably walk-up, but I am flexible.

Are you married or single? Do you have children? Single, no kids.
Do you prefer public or private schools? N/A
Do you have pets? Yes, 2 cats.
Do you want or need a yard? A yard might be nice, but this is a low, low, low priority.
Are you keeping a car? Yes.
Do you prefer bustling activity or calm and quiet? As long as the noise level is not out of control (so that it interferes with sleep), I'm pretty flexible.

What do you want to be closest to? Probably basic services. Being near a downtown might be nice. Also, I wouldn't want too long of a commute to NHCC (preferably 15 min or less).

Do you want to live with people of a similar age, race, religion or sexual preference or do you prefer a diverse neighborhood? Doesn't matter.

Phillies or Mets? Phillies just because my Dad grew up near Philadelphia and is a Phillies fan. Otherwise I couldn't care less about sports.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I think $700/mo isn't bad at all. If you want to be close to NCC, you want to stay in Bethlehem Township, or North Bethlehem. You could also look at Nazareth, Palmer township, or Easton. It really comes down to what you like to do, and what environment you want to be in. Northampton county has rural, suburban, and somewhat urban.

Okay, I will definitely look at Bethlehem and North Bethlehem. Someone else had mentioned Palmer township to me, but I can't find a single apartment listing online for that area. Do you have any specific suggestions about good apartment complexes in that whole general area (Bethlehem etc.)?

check out broad, high and goepp streets or around that area.. lots of apartments with signs up in the window. Also along center street there are a number of apartments for that price or less. It's a safe and nice area ( I often walk home from work and feel completely safe letting my gf go running alone )

To qualify for the lower tuition at NCC you can live in Lehigh county as long as your still in the BASD.
