We are looking into moving into PA sometime next year. As we drove around, we found that we loved Quakertown because of the convenience to shopping (Target, Wal-Mart).

We have spoken to some builders that are putting up new construction in Lower Macungie. Are there stores and such around there? We have driven around several areas and they seemed a little too rural for me. I need to have shopping within 15 minutes so I can get stuff done while the kids are in school. Where is the nearest Target, Wal-Mart, supermarket in Lower Macungie?

Thanks for your help!

Whitehall is pretty close by and has a very big strip mall/ shopping center area. I haven't been up there for a few years but it has the Wal Mart/Staples/ fast food type places with alot of other restaurants. There's also a sizeable indoor mall that was redone a few years back.

From Lower Macungie you are not more than 15 to 20 minutes from almost anything you could ask for. Grocery stores, Super Walmart in Trexlertown,

Target, Wegmans in west Allentown.

Lots of quaint variety shops in Emmaus, Depending on where in LM, your 20 minutes to the malls in Whitehall.

One nice thing about the Lehigh Valley is your not to far from anything.
Hope this helps.

The super Walmart in Trexlertown is your closest large store as virangos has mentioned. Depending on traffic and where you live, you may also be able to get to this: Welcome to The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley within 20 minutes.

I actually found it a plus to be a little out from shopping areas when we moved here. It made me think a little bit before going out and spending money.

The nearest shopping areas are in Trexlertown, Emmaus, and the shopping centers at the intersection of Hamilton and Cedar Crest. Most of these are probably within a five or ten minute drive, depending on where in the township you live. Target is further, as is the Lehigh Valley mall. There is no shortage of supermarkets (Walmart and Superfresh (?) in Trexlertown, Weis in Emmaus, King's on Hamilton, Wegman's).

The Allentown farmer's market is downtown at the fairground and is a great source for produce, meat, and baked goods. It's open Thurs-Sat.

We are moving to Lower Macungie at the end of the month, and from one who needs her Target and Wegmans, I can tell you it's all close enough
