Hi! I am looking for anyone in need of child care in the Lehighton area. I would really like to help out my hometown by opening a day care in the area but I want to make sure that there is a real need/want for it before I pursue it. Please let me know! Thanks

I think most people are to poor there to pay for it. Carbon County is a poor county

What I seem to find is that parents I know in Carbon County tend to commute into the ABE area with their children and use daycares in the Lehigh Valley closer to their workplace. There are actually quite a few established smaller daycares in the region you would be competing with as well. I agree with sleepless that daycare is probably not a good money-maker in the Lehighton area. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I agree & disagree with the other responses. Although what they say is true I believe there could still be a need you won't get rich on your venture if that is what you're looking for. If your in it for the love of kids then go for it.

I have a brother who lives in Lehighton who is currently looking for help with his kids before and after school and having a hard time finding what he needs. He is a father of 4 quickly becoming single due to recent seperation. He currently has joint custody and is hoping to get full custody but can't seem to find a day care facility that has any openings for what he needs (2 school age needing before and after school, 2 of preschool age needing full day care). I think if the availability were there there might be a higher need. I'm sure my brother is not the only one in a situation like this.

I live in a more metropolitan city and in trying to help my brother cannot believe how unadvanced the area still is from when I left 16 years ago. If I were you I'd start at doing daycare within your home if its feasible and grow from there.

Hope this helps!!!

Default childcare

I live in Lehighton and it is very hard to find childcare for my 3 year old. I just got a notice today that my childcare provider is closing. I can't believe that people are telling you that Lehighton is not a good area. I know that there are also a lot of people looking for childcare in this area where they can also depend on their child being placed on the school bus or need a place for their child to go when early dismissal occurs.

Sleepless should not make generalizations about those living in this area. I am looking for child care in Palmerton and I happen to earn enough money to pay for it. I work in Allentown, but prefer to have my child care provider be in the Palmerton area.

I am looking for child care and i do live in lehighton and i am not poor . I think it's really rude to judge a book buy its cover . Yes there is some funny looking people around here but that does not mean everyone is poor. Alot of the daycare's up here are too small and there are to many children and not enough teachers. I would like to see a good daycare brought up here i think it is in much needed .
