I take objection with your response for a few reasons. One, it is flat out rude. Two, it doesn't further OP's initial question about property taxes. Third, the poster from Whitehall, or anywhere, is entitled to label his/her experience with a child's school "excellent," regardless of what the test score link reports. People can find excellence when their child's needs are met, when there are caring teachers and administration, when there is a supportive community, where there are rich academics and extracurriculars. How did we label schools "excellent" twenty years ago, before such reports existed? Are the only three placeholders that we are permitted to deem excellent in the Lehigh Valley? Says who?

I hope that we can push to further the board's discourse about education in the Lehigh Valley beyond the school's test scores. What if you or I were judged only by ours?

I don't wish to engage you in an argument about test scores or the state of education in this country. I simply and respectfully hope that you can broaden your understanding of what an excellent school is.

I am in Parkland. And thank you Vapama for addressing this. It seems that everyone raves about Parkland and East Penn. And though I am very happy with my district, there are several smaller districts that are very good as well.

I'm going to stand by my statement that Whitehall does not have excellent schools. They're good, Southern Lehigh's are good, but neither are excellent, IMHO. There's a lot more then test scores to judge a school by and I think it's a good discussion to have. I've started another thread explaining what we were looking for. We did not choose East Penn or Parkland and I don't think they are "excellent" either.

You are right about going off topic vapama, and I won't continue doing that.

Let's get back on-topic please. By the way, Birdsboro is not in the Lehigh Valley, it's in Berks county.

We are looking to relocate and would love to hear more about Birdsboro, PA. We will be looking for lakefront property. Any suggestions/comments about the lake(s) in the area would be appreciated. In addition, are there good hospitals/doctors and other healthcare providers in or near that area? What about criminal activity, is it low, high? Thanks!

there is no lakefront property in Birdsboro, maybe riverfront, as the Surekill runs through it.
The only lake I can think of that is even close, is in a state park.

I'll say...hit $10,000 a year and then come talk to me about high taxes!
