My boyfriend and I are almost 100% on moving to Bethlehem or Emmaus. In the end, we would like a nice area with some land and single family homes to raise a family. I am in the process of finding a possible short term rental in the meantime while we save some money, find jobs, and can buy a house. Any advice on where to look? also, does anyone know of any good companies hiring anywhere in Lehigh Valley. I am trying to help my boyfriend search for a good job. He is currently in construction and can buld anything! He has been building houses for 10 years in NY. He is extremely smart and would be willing to learn a new trade. thanks!

Just check monster or careerbuilder for job openings. The only parts of Bethlehem to avoid are on the south side of the city.

Your best bet is to do as you indicated. Rent a place and then get a feel for the area and see where you want to settle.

Although I love Bethlehem, it's school district leaves something to be desired. They have made great strides in getting better, but the recent budget cuts are going to hit them very hard.
