So, single 38 y.o. professional, lived all over the country, male, mostly wanting to be where the action is, working for 3 months in Bethlehem. I have read some other posts on the topic, and it seems that "downtown/historic" Bethlehem may be the area I want as opposed to some surrounding areas. Where is that? I am a 38 y.o. male, traveling physical therapist, needing a simple place to live. Priority is being around the cultural stuff---for instance, if I lived in Philly, I'd be in Center City for sure with museums, nice pubs, other young people. Young is relative I guess. Anyway, no kids, no ties, so related issues aren't issues for me. I need to find a place by next monday, 3 month rental. Thanks guys.... I don't want a place that is reallly nice but too far from the action so that I feel stuck there. I love living near the shops and restaurants/pubs/other culture wherever I am.

Do you want to live with people of a similar age, race, religion or sexual preference or do you prefer a diverse neighborhood?

Phillies or Mets? Pirates have cheap seats, and it's always good for a laugh.

...yeah, downtown Bethlehem seems like it might be the place for me. Can anyone tell me WHERE that is, streets and boundaries? ...also, forgot to ask if it's a good move to just show up, walk around looking for rent signs, make phone calls. Craiglist is where I am looking now...

I found your new home. You can send me the finder fee in the mail.

If you want to live closer to work and next door to a golf course and one of the largest walking/jogging/biking parks in the Lehigh Valley, you could look at these. Although you will need to drive to "nightlife"

As to your question about where in Bethlehem, anything that is near Moravian College or is part of Historic Bethlehem is nice. Once you go over the river to the southside of Bethlehem in around Lehigh University, things get a bit rough.

The south side of Bethlehem near Lehigh University could work for you too.

Bethlehem. The Noth side and South Side are perfect for you. This is the spot. Asoide from the fact there are no jobs, Bethlehem is the best town in the STate, and one of the best in the country. STay out if Allentown! There is nothing there. DO not be influenced by folks that say the south side is rough. Come and feel the vibe. Dave at the Your Welcome Inn is waiting for you. $2 Pabst. If you mention LC he will know who I am and smile approvingly.
