Does anybody have any recommendations either for or against College Heights OBGYN or OBGYN Associates of the LV... for a first pregnancy... we're new the area and those were the two choices I was given by my primary care provider. We need to pick one within the next couple of days so any thoughts are greatly appreciated! :-)

First of all Congratulations

I have heard not-so-good things from 2 friends about College Heights - not about any of the practitioners, but rather that the office staff was terrible about returning calls and that scheduling there was a nightmare.

However, if personally given a choice between the two, I myself would pick OB-GYN Associates of the Lehigh Valley for the single fact that they have several midwives working for them. If they are anything like the midwives I have seen in the past, then the appointments would be longer and more thorough. I did not care for the OB-GYNs I had seen in the past, as the appointments were rushed/quick and not very informative. I know this is just a quick generalization, but I thought I would try to help you out with this decision.

If you really are indecisive, schedule an initial appointment with both and give them a try to get a feel for the practices. Lots of luck!

I go to College Heights and have been very happy with them. However, I had my kids befor we moved here, so have only gone for routine GYN stuff.

Although not part of either practice, MaryAnne Freeman Brndjar DO is right across the street from LVH @ Cedar Crest and delivered both of our daughters and my wife loves her. Drives an hour to still see her as a matter of fact.

My wife was a College Heights patient during the delivery of our child. The office was very, very good for prenatal visits, but the delivery itself was not handled well in my opinion The baby was healthy, for which I am supremely grateful, but the doctor at the delivery was not a good communicator and often gone. I think since any doctor from the practice can be on call, you may not know the physician delivering the baby.

I can only speak for College Heights. I don't know if ALL OB's are like this or not but when I went there I saw a different dr. at EVERY prenatal visit. They said it was so I would be familiar with every dr. because who knows who would be working when I delivered. And when I delivered it was the only dr. I had never met! lol.
