How is the Melting Pot fondue restaurant in Bethlehem? We drove by last night and considered it, but there was no parking nearby and it was getting late.

I'm trying to figure out where I want to eat for my birthday, and Bethlehem usually has some great restaurant choices. I'm not limited to Bethlehem, although we'll probably spend the day at Christkindlmarkt and shopping along Main @ Moravian bookstore, etc. I love Alando, the Kenyan restaurant, but am looking to try something new. Any other hidden gems in the Lehigh Valley that I should try?

Hi!

I was just at Christkindlmarkt!!

You could certainly try Bravo or Fishbone near Lehigh Valley Mall.

Pricey? Yes, but you usually get what you pay for at these two eateries.

An excellent Italian restaurant in Bethlehem is Mama Nina located at 546 Main Street downtown.

Another fantastic place is Emeril's Chop House located in the Sands Casino.

Fantastic!!

Just some suggestions for ya!!

Happy Birthday!!

Julia

Why not try Tapas on Main right next to Alondo's?

I went out to the Melting Pot a few weekends ago with some friends while our husbands were out of town golfing. It was very nice and definitely a special occasion place. The food was delicious and the whole fondue experience was fun.

My husband and I have gone to The Edge for our anniversary a couple of times and loved that too. We like the combo of eating and walking around so a place in downtown Bethlehem is perfect for me. Many people like to go out at the Promenade shops The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley Store Directory restaurants for the same reason and I can recommend most of the places there too. I especially love the Thai and Japanese restaurants.

The owner of Pacifico in The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley is a co-owner of "Tapas on Main" Street in Bethlehem. It opened in May 2011. Your host is Juan Carlos Paredes, Pacifico’s manager who will co-own the new restaurant with Pacifico owner Rafael Palomino.

Rafael is a Colombian born chef who has several popular places in the New York city area before venturing into the Lehigh Valley.

Thanks to everyone for all of the suggestions. I have to admit I don't really like chain restaurants, but a lot of the options you have all given me sound great!
