Hello! I am moving to the Lehigh Valley in May from Southern NJ to attend grad school at Desales University in Center Valley, Pa. I have begun the apartment search but was discouraged after seeing a few student apts near Lehigh University in an area that didnt seem very safe (south of campus). If anyone can suggest some neighborhoods or apt complexes it would be appreciated, here are my criteria:

Look in Coopersburg. There are a few places on Main street or off of State Street.

The Saucon Rail trail (4.5 miles long) goes from Hellertown to Coopersburg and passes right by DeSales College. You can ride you bike to school if you have an automobile repair.
Coopersburg will be nicer, but Hellertown may have more options.
Saucon View Apartments, are pretty luxurious for a student, but you have a decent budget. They are about 500 yards from the Letter H on the map above.

Hellertown is a good option, and not much further. It's a pretty drive in nice weather between Hellertown and DeSales if you're not into biking, but that's a great suggestion. The rail trail is extremely popular and said to be safe.
