At one of the last local watering holes where you can still play Cash and Haggard on the jukebox, drink cheap beer, and order pickled beets a man from Louisiana came in and asked where to buy Pa German dutch food. I asked why he would want to buy such blandized, doughy junk? He looked at me astonished. The barmaid was laughing hysterically. I explained there are decent Italian restaurants and Latino restaurants where you can eat some flavorful spicy food. I did however recommend perogies, scrapple, and even sauerkraut. I suggested he try some diners. He said that he would.

Well, I'm confused... Scrapple and Sauerkraut are typical PA Dutch food. Cuisine of the Pennsylvania Dutch - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I can't say I''m a big fan of most of it, but I think it's a shame that there seems to be no restaurant in the Valley that has more then one or two PA Dutch items on the menu.
