There is a proposal to build a shopping mall called Hamilton Crossings with a Costco and a Target in Lower Macungie at Wescosville. It would be just West of PA Turnpike NE extension, South of Route 222, and North of Main Street. It would straddle Krocks Rd which is an entrance onto Route 222.

The Lehigh Valley Planning Commission may make a recommendation against Hamilton Crossings, because the Route 222 bypass was not designed by the state Department of Transportation to handle the additional traffic.

I guess there are only 5 Target stores in the Lehigh Valley. It seems like this one would be only 4 miles from the one on Cedar Crest Blvd, but I guess the Cedar Crest store is only 5.5 miles from Airport Rd.

1) Allentown :1600 N Cedar Crest Blvd - Allentown, PA 18104 (610) 398-4006
2) Hanover Township :912 Airport Center Dr - Allentown, PA 18109 (610) 573-5710
3) Richland Twp: 610 N West End Blvd - Quakertown, PA 18951 (215) 529-2720
4) Lower Nazareth: 3835 Dryland Way - Easton, PA 18045 (610) 250-5280
5) Wilkes-Barre 3400 Wilkes-Barre Township Commons Wilkes-Barre Township, PA 18702 (570) 829-0511

The problem wouldn't be that the new store wouldn't get business but the older ones would lose business. Once they opened the Target in Quakertown I rarely went to the one on Cedar Crest.
