Is there fracking that happens in the lehigh valley, or near it? I'm referring to the natural gas that gets drilled in PA.

And if so, could something like this happen to the Lehigh Valley? http://rt.com/usa/194620-california-...contamination/

No fracking doesn't occur in areas in or (immediately) around the Lehigh Valley. Fracking occurs, for the most part, in Pennsylvania's more sparsely populated, 'Northern Tier' counties where most of the larger Marcellus Shale deposits are located.

In the Lehigh Valley you have to worry about air pollution, and ground water contamination from garbage dump runoff. Some days I actually choke while breathing Lehigh Valley's air, especially in the summertime; but, to be candid, the same thing has also happened to me in the Wyoming Valley.

I do believe the time has come in America for everybody to use drinking water filters in their homes - It doesn't matter where you live! Pennsylvania can be a beautiful state; however, it also has a long long history of serious environmental abuse.

No. The closest sites are north of Scranton.

Such a controversial topic, and not to start a war, I'll just say you don't need to worry about fracking.

We do have one of the highest allergy counts in our air in the country, though, because of the humid weather from being in a valley.

What? the topic is that there is no tracking in the LV. What do allergies have to do with this?

The topic of fracking in general, and whether or not it's contaminated.

The comment about allergies was because someone asked about air quality.

Are there parts of Lehigh Valley where the pollution is not as bad, i.e. how is it west of Allentown and in the Saucon Valley?

It's not really "air pollution" as it is pollen/allergens in the air.
