We just moved to Williams Township and are in need of a new pediatrician. Since we don't know anyone in the area, we are somewhat clueless about all medical providers, but the ped. is priority one. Any recommendations?

ETA: I dont mind a bit of travel time so please don't limit recs to Easton proper.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Do you want a specific pediatrician or is a family doctor OK? We see Dr. Potterjones at the Health Center at Bethlehem Township. She is a family doc who delivers babies at LVH and also has a special interest in pediatrics and well-woman care. I very highly recommend her!

She is in the Muhlenberg Primary Care group and the number is (610) 868-4000.

Thanks Karen!

I really would prefer a separate pediatrician.

Anyone have any info on ABC Family Pediatricians? They sound huge - which can be good or bad. Any opinions?

We use ABC Center Valley and have been very pleased with their responsiveness and professionalism. I think they are rated top in the valley by the Morning Call reader poll, which is how we ended up with them.

Karen,
Do you see both Dr. Potterjones and Dr. Shay? I'm still trying to find a doctor who will be respectful of my immunization choices. One pediatrician said she would be respectful, but she spends over 10 minutes so far each of the 2 times I've had to see her giving me all the "data" she knows on the topic. Ugh. Would you recommend Dr. Potterjones as vaccine friendly? She is closer to me than Dr. Shay, but I'll drive a decent distance for a good doctor I can trust.
Thanks!

I see Dr. Potterjones for myself and well woman care, and DH has seen her as well (although he only goes to docs when he is dying LOL). I don't take the kids there though, as they had already been seeing Dr. Shay. I believe Dr. Potterjones is pro-vax, but since I don't take the kids there, I really didn't get into that, KWIM? She is very respectful of my extending BFing and homebirthing though.

Dr. Shay is well worth the drive! I originally took my oldest there because he is a DAN! doctor and my son is on the autism spectrum. He is very knowledgeable in natural medicine as well as conventional and is NOT pro vaccine. He also does acupuncture and I want to try that at some point. As far as vaxes go, he told me at one visit his own children were not vaccinated until it was mandatory for them to live in college dorms.

It may take a bit to get that first appointment, but after that you can promptly schedule. His staff is so nice and I would KILL to live on the grounds where the office is - just beautiful!
