Hello
Can anyone tell me what the neighborhoods are like as far as crime or not nice people LOL

Is it a nice safe place to raise a family?

Thanks so much!

I certainly hope so, since we just moved to Lower Macungie in October.

I have lived in a lot of different places, and this area has been the easiest for me to adjust to. There are lots of transplants like myself, so I feel like I fit right in.

Our development is great and the people have been super nice and welcoming. As far as crime, I have no stats on it, but it feels very safe to me - if that makes any sense.

I lived in Macungie about 10 years ago, I realize a lot has changed but when I was their we didn't even lock our doors. I was just off main street and Lea street.

KristyLiz, do you live in apt or single family house? Are there Asians where you are living? Will be heading there next month.

We live in a single family home, and yes, there are quite a few Asian families in our neighborhood. In fact, my neighbors right next door are Asian and also the family next to them, and on the other side of me is an Indian family.

I grew up in NY, so I am thrilled to have at least some diversity.

Would you mind sharing which community your are referring to? My husband and I are also from a large city and will be moving to the LV area. We are hoping to find a great neighborhood that is diverse!

Macungie is a nice area, but they have been building there like crazy the last few years. They just opened a new RT 222 bypass, as well as some other work done on RT 100 that may eliminate some of the traffic congestion. I don't know much about the schools or the taxes there though, but the taxes all over the Lehigh Valley have been going way up the last 5 years or so. Lots of new homes = New Schools = Higher Taxes......
