Have a question for any retired NYC employees with GHI/CBP... Now called EmbelmHealth. Is it really that hard to find Dr's that accept our insurance?
Trying to find Dr's that accept our insurance but it seems most only accept Aetna around here. The closest Healthplex dentist I found is in Lansdale but luckily we go there bi-weekly to shop. Found a family Dr for the kids in Coppersburg which isn't too bad but was hoping to find one near the house (minutes from LVH) but no luck.
But I've also heard retirees coverage is different although it's the same GHI.
Any thoughts?
Thx

Not a NYC employee but work in NYC and live in NEPA. My insurance converts to Aetna when I leave the 5 boroughs. Yours may do the same.

I checked multiple times but no change. Also none of the hospitals in the area take BCBS so if it's an emergency everything will be out of network.

Have you called BCBS directly? I just went on their provider directory and they list both St. Luke's and Lehigh Valley there along with a host of other medical groups and private providers under the BCBS

BCBS provides hospital and GHI/Emblem Health provides medical for me. Wish I could interchange as needed.

https://www.empireblue.com/health-in...vtype=Hospital

Put Allentown in as the location. Like I said, St. Luke's, Sacred Heart and Lehigh Valley all come up as BCBS participating providers for hospital.
