Hey All,
I was wondering if anyone had any info on how hard it is to find decent restaurant jobs in the LV, specifically bartending jobs? We are hoping to relocate from Southern CT, and while I'm not a general fan of CT, the tips and wages are very good, and consistent. When I lived out in Pittsburgh, I loved being there but I really struggled to make ends meet from the few bartending jobs I had. Aside from the hourly pay being terrible, the tips were very inconsistent, as was the nightly volume. I know other bartenders in the area that worked at 3 different jobs to make ends meet. I was hoping maybe some servers, bartenders, or friends of either could chime in with their 2 cents on livability in Lehigh Valley- how hard is it to find a job, do you have to work more than one to financially survive, are full time jobs (4 shifts per week) common? I also noticed there are very few posts for bartender jobs on craigslist or on other job sites like Indeed. I'm hoping this is because most places are used to people walking in for apps and not because there are such few jobs? I absolutely loved Pittsburgh but I feel like it's nearly impossible for blue collar/restaurant workers to financially survive there. I am hoping the same is not true for Eastern, PA? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
