Good afternoon! Our family is relocating to Zionsville/Lehigh Valley. My wife is a teacher and we have heard mixed difficulty in finding teaching jobs in this area. She is certified and a Special Ed teacher. I have read mixed articles as well. My question is, to what extent is there still difficulty in obtaining a job in the Lehigh Valley area? Or has that since subsided and it is fairly easy to find a job.

Check out the "Employment" tabs for the local school districts. Spec Ed is a high demand position and you should be able to find something, espcially in the area you're looking.

It is still hard to find a job teaching because of a few things - The teacher unions are strong, pay is good, and our PA state colleges tend to graduate more teachers than there are jobs, especially when teachers stay in the same location for 30 years. Special ed, is one of the harder ones for schools to fill though so I'd say she has a better than average shot as long as she has up to date PA certifications. I would definitely not call it "easy" to find a job, but it's doable.
