Things are out of control in Allentown. Shootings are occurring at a high frequency. Law enforcement has been silent and seemingly wishing it for all to go away. Recent events tell us they have sat on their hands for too long. Now is the time to go out into the streets and make mass arrest. Zero tolerance.

Allentown has been a crime filled area for decades, the shootings recently aren't anything new, in fact in past years much worse. The cops in the city do what they can , but seriously , making "mass arrests" in the streets? Based on what? They already do gang crackdowns all the time, street patrols and bike cops ,what more do you expect, gimme a break !

bluewin, you are confusing the whole Lehigh Valley which includes three cities and a dozen towns with the city of Allentown. There absolutely is big problem right now with Allentown, but I don't think any other area in the LV is experiencing this violence. I have no idea about Hershey and Harrisburg, it would be better to ask on the Harrisburg forum about those areas.

Basically stay out of a few neighborhoods in Allentown and there are no issues. People always seem to blow this out of proportion. How many of those killed didn't know their killer? I'm genuinely curious.
