Mod cut, I've edited this title to make it a more general Covid-19 conversation

So I've been following on my calendar how long I've been sick. My abdominal area hurt for a few days, and then suddenly on March 25th I woke up feeling like I was freezing to death at about 5AM. I took a scorching hot bath and went back to bed. That day began very bad aches and pains. To make this easier and with less errors I'll copy from my calendar. Note - I had a very light cough and light wheezing for one day only. Aside from feeling extremely winded from fatigue, not much issue breathing.

March 18th - Start of Bad Sick

March 19th - Same

March 20th - Worse

March 21st - Little Better, felt a jolt of energy and decided to look into getting tested since people who knew I was sick wanted to know, as did I.

March 22nd - Still Bad but Stable

March 23rd - Still Bad Staying the Same, not worse not better

March 24th - Head Hurts, Chest Improve Some, Weak

So I phone screened for testing 2 times and they advise no test. My chest and head hurts throughout all of this but nothing TOO bad. Most importantly I can breath OK. And starting yesterday my chest no longer feels like stale bread, I can actually feel the pain rather than numbness and it's nothing I can't handle. Same goes for my head. Yesterday March 23rd my appetite began to return, couldn't eat ANYTHING for a few days before that. Forced down 3 bananas and half a slice of rye bread that I couldn't finish because it tasted like cardboard. My friend asked if I lost my sense of smell. I am honest I didn't think anything of it so I am unsure. Surely couldn't taste anything though.

So my frustration is the claim that identifying those who have it is the best way to fight it, or so they say. Doesn't seem like I can get tested as I do not have a doctor, medical insurance, am not Tom Hanks or a Pro Athlete. And this is also the tail end of flu season. So I either got a nasty flu, or something else. I don't know what to answer when someone asks what I think is wrong. Don't smoke, drink, but my diet could be better. I'm slim at 6'2 and rarely get sick.

Anyone else sick and frustrated not knowing?

Do you have a Primary Care Doc you can call? How about your insurance company (or their "teledoc")? They only want to test people at the advice of a doctor, due to the lack of tests.

No and no. Feel like I'm coming around but I'm not. Just staying the same. Well at least not as bad as last week so there's that.

Call 877-PA-HEALTH. You may have to get in a queue for call-back, but get it in the works.

Awaiting a call from them now. Still feel worn down but slowly getting stronger. I want to know because if I've conquered covid19 I can HELP others when I get better.

Well after many tries it appears you will only get tested if you are in dire situation. Like really bad. They don't want to identify potential carriers contrary to what's being said on TV and online news outlets. Huge contradiction from reality. You're only getting tested if you are well off, lucky, or famous.

I will proceed forward with caution hoping I don't get anyone sick.

I'm really sorry for what you are going through and hope you can stay in your home for 14 days.

I'm going through a hell of a lot less than what others are going through. And I thank you for the kind words. If I do have Covid-19, good news guys. You can kick it's ass. Sure it sucks, but whatever virus I have right now is on the ropes.

Hello Lehigh Valley Brethren!

Short story you may or may not find interesting.

Today I was in an online chatroom for a game I play to pass the time. I joking asked who else has been real sick for 10+ days and one of the Swedish guys I've known for over 10 years online says he is. I told him I started recording it March 18th, he says his started March 17th. We compared symptoms which were extremely similar if not identical. He says he lives near Stockholm and people at his job have already tested positive, but like me, he cannot get tested. We both have developed a slight cough today and both report feeling stronger today. He's convinced he has covid-19, while I on the other hand don't like to make assumptions.

Anyway, back to life in quarantine and I wish all my neighbors safety and happiness.
