ok so I now live in Lehigh valley, and we love it.

We are looking into getting a dog, more specifically a mini labradoodle
I was wondering if anyone knew of a reputable dog breeder in the area or not so far area.

Thanks for the help.
Kathy

Your best best would be to contact the AKC and ask for breeders in your area. Please check out your breeder, as the rural areas of PA, Ohio, etc. have a lot of puppy mills. Ask for references, see where the pups are housed, etc. Ask questions.

Sorry, no suggestions except this site looks like it lists registered breeders of labradoodles - Labradoodles, Australian Labradoodle Association of America, Inc. committed to the Labradoodle and Australian Labradoodle Breed Cute doggies!

Thanks for the advice I did look into the AKC and I will look into that website. I did find two breeders unfortunately they are not in PA but I want to make sure they are reputable and that they love their dogs. Thanks again!

There are many labradoodles in shelters. Maybe you could consider adopting and give one a new home. If you go to Petfinder.com: Adopt a pet and help an animal shelter rescue a puppy or kitten. and search for poodles or labs, you will find mixed breeds.

I agree. As long as the thousands wait for homes on petfinder-it is mindboggling-don't patronize a for-profit breeder. They need to become extinct. Let the ebreed clubs breed a few to maintain the standard but backyard breeders are no better than puppymills because they dump on the market. Give a lonely loving puppy or dog from petfinder a home first. It is the way to go.

Default Don't Shop, Adopt!

Hello,

This is just a plea for you to PLEASE do some research and maybe go with a breed rescue or shelter instead of buying. And, please, whatever you do, DO NOT buy from a pet store!

PLEASE take this seriously, check out our website, we have some helpful info. about dog breeding.

I 1000% agree with the above posters who suggest adoption. I would never, ever, spend money to support a breeder, pet store, or puppy mill when there are many wonderful doggies at your local shelter who are waiting for a loving home. Shelters are full of "designer" and pure bred animals who were cast aside when their owners grew tired of them or couldn't handle taking care of them anymore. ADOPTION ALL THE WAY!!!

I agree with the posts above. Check out petfinder.com or google the breed to see if any rescues come up. You can even check out Lab and Golden Retriever rescue sites. We rescued a 6 year yellow (pure bred) lab and she is great-the best dog ever. My neighbors rescued their black and yellow labs (pure bred) and again they are great dogs. P.S. There are rescues all over the country-I know Georgia has a ton-pretty much one for every breed. I am sure you can find this breed without going to a breeder.

Please rescue or adopt or select a REAL breeder. (walls full of trophies, certified eyes, hips, etc., documented bloodlines that go back for decades, etc)

Please - do NOT support puppy mills or backyard breeders!
